It's time to Hit the Trail !

We have developed 6 exciting new trails throughout the Lagan Valley Regional Park that explore the ‘world around us’ element of the curriculum. Each trail includes a children’s activity book, map and teacher’s guide. The trail booklets can be completed in their entirety or you can mix and match topics to suit your learning needs.

Minnowburn Close to the city yet in the heart of the countryside that’s the paradox of Minnowburn. It has changed little over the years and still holds a rural charm more associated with bygone days. Read more	Lagan Meadows Lagan Meadows Nature Reserve is a tranquil piece of countryside in the heart of the city. It is a mosaic of wildflower meadows, ponds, hedgerows and woodland bordering the River Lagan. Read more	Lady Dixon Park Lady Dixon Park is a joy to discover with its woodlands and meadows children can explore diverse habitats and the huge variety of wildlife that live there. Read more
Castle Gardens Castle Gardens was once the site of the 17th century Lisburn Castle. Nowadays the gardens are restored to their former glory with a wealth of heritage and wildlife to discover. Read more	Lock Keeper's Cottage This is the perfect location for teaching the world around us. There are few places on earth where you can come and discover a working lock alongside an 18th century cottage restored to its former glory. Read more	Belvoir Forest Park Belvoir is a fantastic location to teach the ‘world around us’. From the Normans and castles, to the Victorians and ice houses, there’s plenty to get children enthused about the past. Read more
